Program Plus tablets are administered for the prevention of fleas, concurrent prevention of heartworm disease and/or treatment of adult stages of gastrointestinal nematodes such as hookworms, roundworm) and whipworms in dogs

Program Plus has been approved for sale in the UK by the VMD. The US equivalent of this product has been approved for sale by the FDA.
Both the UK and US products contain the same active ingredients .
The UK versions have not been approved for sale in the USA. As a consequence, the UK packaging does not have EPA or FDA approval .
Safety
International Product: Program Plus is not a flavored tablet.
In locations considered high risk of heartworm, it is important that a veterinary consultation is carried out on your dog before starting a course of Program Plus.
This is necessary in order to exclude the presence of Dirofilaia Immitis, which will require adulticidal therapy before administering Program Plus treatment.
Serious side effects are very rare with Program Plus, but less severe side effects may include transitory hypersensitivity reactions, including labored breathing,
excess salivation, vomiting and palce mucous membranes. However, these side effects are caused by the release of proteins from dead fleas, and not as a direct toxic effect of Program Plus.
Program Plus is safe to use on pregnant dogs - neither foetal or neonatal toxicity has been noted for either lufenuron or milbemycine oxime on dogs.
Program Plus should be administered to animals only, and following use any spare tablets or trash from the product should be disposed of in a safe manner.
Keep this treatment out of the reach and sight of children and other household pets.
