Doxorubicin has been used successfully as a single agent and in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents, to produce regression in a variety of tumor types such as acute lymphoblastic and acute myeloblastic leukemia, Wilms' tumor, neuroblastoma, soft tissue and bone sarcomas, breast carcinoma, ovarian carcinoma, testicular carcinoma, transitional cell bladder carcinoma, thyroid carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, lymphomas of both Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's types, gastric carcinoma and bronchogenic carcinoma.
