Description:
Doxazosin is in a group of drugs called alpha-adrenergic blockers. Doxazosin causes the blood vessels (veins and arteries) to relax and expand, improving blood flow. Doxazosin also relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate.

Directions:
CARDURA XL should be taken once daily with breakfast. Because of its delivery system, always swallow the tablet whole. Never chew, crush, or cut it. The starting dose of CARDURA XL is 4 mg. This dose may provide relief for you. After 3 or 4 weeks, however, your doctor may recommend that you increase your dosage to 8 mg for better symptom relief.

Side Effects:
In studies, the most common side effects were headache, dizziness, cold or flu, fatigue, and back pain.
Low blood pressure
Some patients had symptoms of low blood pressure, such as feeling dizzy or faint, after taking CARDURA XL. These symptoms may happen right after a dose or even hours later. Call your doctor if you experience these symptoms.
Be careful doing things like driving or working with machines until you know how CARDURA XL will affect you.
